TASCAM's Parent Company Marks 50th Anniversary in 2003

ANAHEIM, CA (January 16, 2003) . . . TEAC Corporation, the parent company of TASCAM and a world leader in the development and manufacturing of advanced recording technologies, is proud to announce that 2003 marks their golden anniversary. The Tokyo-based corporation is known worldwide for manufacturing a variety of innovative analog and digital recording products for the professional audio, home entertainment, personal computer, emergency services, industrial, military and aerospace applications.

"We are extremely proud of our 50 years of audio and video recording technical achievements and contributions," says Jimmy Yamaguchi, President of TEAC America, Inc.  "The key to our success is our employees and their ongoing dedication to creating the best and most reliable recording products available.  Even though we've grown over the years, we've never lost sight of our focus to provide recording solutions for our customers and their recording and data acquisition needs."

Widely known as a leader in audio recording technologies, TEAC introduced the TASCAM brand of products to audio professionals in the early 1970's.  Over the years TASCAM has developed a number of innovative and award winning recording products including the world's first all-in-one home studio, the 144 Portastudio.  Other TASCAM innovations include the 122 cassette recorder adopted as a broadcast standard in the 1980s, the Emmy Award winning DA-88 DTRS multi-track, the Academy Award Plaque winning MMR digital dubbers and the revolutionary MX-2424 hard disk recorder.
